Forum Marketing That Works!

Running a business involves dealing with big goals, small goals, and daily tasks.  These are activities that fall into three distinct baskets, if you will.  Daily tasks are just the type of stuff that you need to do on a day-to-day basis to operate your business.  The smaller goals are like near-term goals that you have.  The big goals are those that relate to what the true purpose of your business is.  It is what your business’s destiny. Keep these baskets separate.

While it is easy to track and get out of the way of the smaller goals and the daily tasks, big goals tend to get lost in the shuffle.  To help you motivate yourself to accomplish these big goals, motivate yourself with accomplishment dates.  Write down on a piece of paper a certain date that says, “I did this thing.”  Do not use the word “I will” or “I would have done” or “I will have.”  Use “I did” or the appropriate verb.  This sets up a psychological chain in your mind that the goal will have been accomplished at a certain date.  Since the reality does not match the statement that you are reading out loud, your mind will work while you are sleeping to make this a reality.  It would trigger your subconscious to be a valuable partner in your waking hours as you move towards this goal.

This is a very powerful tool to achieving big goals.  If your goal for your business is to be generating $25,000 a month, write your accomplishment statement this way:  “On May 15, my company is making $25,000 a month.”  “In 2012, my company is making $50,000 a month.”  See the big difference from:  “By May 15, 2012, my company will be making xx amount per month?”  You are not giving yourself any space here.  You are not giving yourself any wiggle room for an excuse.  Your subconscious is being actively recruited to make this a reality.  This is a very powerful tool that is used by many motivational programs and many corporate training programs because study shows that they indeed generate results.  Use this to your advantage and start today.
